Rustic Autumn Decor

Our House During Fall

Decorating for the holidays is my favorite hobby ever. There's just so much sparkle and warmth that really sets your mood for Thanksgiving/autumn & Christmas/winter. Whatever your decorating style is, rustic decor is extremely simple yet gorgeous in every home. In our house, the walls are tan and we love dark amber colors, browns, & creams to make the walls pop. Here are some photos for inspiration:

The picture above is right by our front door entrance. The plaid pumpkins are made of cloth and stuffed with cotton. They are so cute and would be a simple DIY! The basket is medium size and can hold umbrellas after cool, rainy days. The large jack-o-lantern on the right is ceramic and I believe my parents found it at a garage sale! Some of the best decorations come from thrift stores/garage sales.

This is a little sitting area in the living room. The patterned orange pillow helps the tan chair stand out. The base of this lamp gives a vintage look on top of the wood table. The little pumpkin & fall berries set up adds the perfect amount of decor.

I got these two flawless pumpkins at my local farmers market. There was thousands to choose from but white and orange are my go to for indoor rustic decorating. We put burlap underneath to make the pumpkins bright colors catch the eye. I spent a lot of time looking for these and love to support local farmers and businesses! Gourds also look great with small pumpkins on top of burlap.

In the dining room, we have this amazing arrangement with a large vase full of autumn flowers & cattails, a loose salt rock lamp, a little more burlap, and a sparkling "LOVE" sign. The colors work so well together and the brown cabinet under all this is just as stunning. It is full of wooden ducks, jars, glasses, and more provincial items.

Our couch has three basic pillows on it and a scarlet throw blanket over the back. Next to it is a little stand and a ground lamp. The white shade adds brightness along with the large mirror in the right corner. On the stand is a pot with yellow and orange flowers. On the fireplace, there's a few more flowers with a tan vase & bow, and a mini ombre pumpkin next to it.

Both of these are on the front porch. The decoration on the top left is in the corner by the door. It is long branches as thin as twigs in a detailed large vase tied with a bow. The bottom right photo is on the other side of the door. The wood chair has a multicolored bumpy pumpkin on it and a round, dark orange pumpkin on the ground. The plastic vase holds autumn flowers, berries, and long grass going in every direction. Simple decor outside looks best! Not overwhelming and the excellent amount of vintage/rustic.

Most of these items were found thrifting and from Pier1 Imports. My home feels warm now & smells like cinnamon candles. Decorating gets you excited for 3 months full of family and festivities. I should add that we love halloween decor as well, but didn't put much spooky pieces out this year. I will definitely switch things up for October 2020! Stay tuned for my Christmas article similar to this one & how to decorate your tree!

Thank you all for being understanding the past two weeks without any posts. My life has been crazy but is settling down now so there will be weekly postings and big things coming soon. Very blessed. Xo.
